Dorothy Jane Stokes

Dorothy Jane Stokes, 70, of East Ridge, died on June 15, 2011. She was born in Rome, GA, October 30, 1940. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Stokes, and her brother, Dr. Finley Seagle. Jane graduated from City High in Chattanooga. She was currently employed with Henderson, Hutcherson & McCullough as Controller. She was a faithful and devoted employee and friend for over 20 years. Jane enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She was active member of First Presbyterian Church, Chattanooga, and also loved time spent with her dear friends of “Red Hats” and with the alumni of City High.

Jane is survived by daughters, Amy Marie Harpole, Knoxville, TN and Jennifer Brown Powers; son-in-law John W. Powers of Tulsa, OK; also, granddaughters, Rachel Marie Harpole and Elizabeth Jane Harpole

of Knoxville, TN; cousins Leslie Smith, Dunlap, TN and Chuck Seagle, Bartlett, TN. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Chattanooga, TN with Rev. Joel Treick officiating, and visitation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church-World Missions.
