Dustin was the free spirit- the best looking boy in the room- the one all the young girls adored. His dad and mom, the ones that loved him best and wanted he very best for him. Dustin, I love you. Your parents mean so much to me and I hope that even in Heaven, you can feel their love. I pray that your laugh and “hardassism” live on and that all of us you have left behind can thank God that you were a part of our lives. You are so lucky, because you are so loved by so many.

He used to date my niece, and he messaged me on messenger the day he came home this last time, to tell me that his life was going to be different now. He was going to do all of these positive things. I was so proud of him. I remember him saying that although he and my niece couldn't get along, he would always love her and that I would always be his Aunt Kelly too! The last conversation I had with Dustin, he had just got home from eating out with some friends. I told him how much I loved seafood, but had never been to Red Lobster. He promised me that on my birthday, he was taking me to Red Lobster. So, Dustin, I promise you that on my birthday I will go to Red Lobster in memory of you. Good-bye sweet "Nephew".

Me and my boyfriend met Dustin at the creek the Saturday he passed away. He had knew my brother from coming down to the creek on the weekends. Me and my boyfriend sat next to Dustin and his girlfriend on the rock for awhile and they were both so sweet. Dustin told us a lot about his life and he was so sweet and bubbly. He was having fun living his life. I’ll always remember his smile. Everyone who was at the creek that day will never forget the heart break. I felt so hopeless and there was nothing nobody could have done. We prayed so hard that Dustin would make it. My dad my kids and everyone saw that terrible tragedy that day and we all have bad dreams. We wake up thinking about what we saw that day. We can all find strength knowing he went to a better place and is in the arms of the good lord. I know we just met Dustin that day but it feels like a life time knowing him. That’s how happy and friendly he was. Watching his accident forever changed me and I never want to go back to that rock or that swim area again and I hope they close it down. Rip Dustin you are a angel now
