

Earl O. Davis, Jr., 83, of Chattanooga who died Saturday, April 20, 2013. He was born October 06, 1929 in Chattanooga, a son of the late Earl O Davis, Sr. and Mary Bell Davis. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Ann Davis; a son Earl Thomas Davis; brothers Clarence Davis and James Davis. Mr. Davis was a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church. He was a huge supporter of the Forgotten Children’s Fund, making sure the buckets were delivered and set up at all the local restaurants. Mr. Davis spent his retirement often working until late in the evening getting Christmas ready for the forgotten children.
Survivors include his daughter Patricia (David) Elliott; brothers Robert T. Davis, his phone buddy they would talk to each other every day and would watch sports together at different houses, and George Davis; Tux his best friend and constant companion; grandchildren, Brian Elliott, Brent Elliott, and Nicole Davis great grandchildren Bailie Pell and Christopher Robinson; special niece and caregiver Melinda Penney and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 23 at 10:30 am in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend Genevieve DeHoog officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the East Chapel of Chattanooga funeral home Monday from 4-8.
