Eugene Raymond “Ray” Theobold, Jr., 80, of Chattanooga passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026. Ray attended Orange Grove School in 1955 and was a resident of Orange Grove since 1978. He was of the Catholic Faith and was a car enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Raymond Theobold, Sr. and Inez Josephine Grandin Theobold; grandparents, Josiah and Mary Grandin; two sisters, Mary Theobold and Sandy Theobold Simmons; brother, Joseph Theobold.
Survivors include his brother, Chris Theobold; nieces, Ella Sing Porter, Lisa Simmons and Laura Glass; great-nephews, Timothy Simmons and Andrew Glass; great-great-nephew, Parker Simmons; cousins, Robin Hood and David Hood.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home 404 South Moore Road followed by a service at 12:30 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
