

Mrs. Pogue graduated from the University of Chattanooga in 1947 with a music degree. She studied music at Columbia University in New York City, and education at Memphis State University. She was retired from the Hamilton County School System, where she taught for many years at Sunnyside Elementary School
Mrs. Pogue was a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church. She was a member of the Nancy Ward Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Her husband, William Hays Pogue, son, Franklin Stone Pogue, daughter, Julie Pogue Feagans and sister, Frances Stone Freedman preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Richard Hays Pogue of Bradenton, Florida, Nancy Pogue Tyler of Chattanooga; son-in-law Mark Feagans of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Jessica Porrata, Tyler Hays Pogue, Joshua Tyler, Rachel Tyler, Blake Feagans and Jack Feagans; great-grandchildren, Madison and Makenzie Porrata; and nieces, Janice Pogue and Mimi Freedman.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 20, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. and Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. at the East Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 2:30 p.m., in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Erik Broeren officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
