

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Dr. Cliff Robinson who was the former associate pastor at Highland Park Baptist Church for 28 years.
She was born in Macon County, TN and accepted the Lord as her savior at the age of 9. Shortly afterwards, she and her parents moved to Old Hickory, TN where she attended the Dupont Grammar School. Her High School years were spent in Nashville at the Issac Litton High School. She became an active member in the Inglewood Baptist Church, and in 1942, met her future husband, Clifford (Edward) Robinson, while working in the Vacation Bible School.
Upon graduating in 1945, she entered the prestigious Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. In 1947, she and Cliff were married. In 1949, they moved to Chattanooga, and she began working at the old Holiday Shoe Store. A short time later she began working at the American National Bank at the North river Branch; where she stayed until 1958. During this time she was very active in the Highland Park Baptist Church; serving in the Women’s Missionary society as well as teaching Junior age girls in the Sunday School. She also was responsible for the starting of the Ladies Visitation Program on Thursday mornings. She also served as the church’s Training Union secretary for many years. She faithfully served her Lord and mentored many ladies there at the church by her Godly example. For the past several years, she was a member of the Stanley Heights Baptist Church, and an Honorary member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Faye was an excellent cook and always enjoyed entertaining guests in her home. A superb homemaker, she also made many of her own clothes. She was a devoted wife and mother.
She is survived by her son, James (Laverne)Robinson, of Chattanooga; and her daughter, Deborah (Robert)Atkins, of East Ridge.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 15, 2012, in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Ray Thompson and Rev. James Langston officiating. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m., Friday, September 14, 2012, at the funeral home.
