Florine Bennett Murray, 97, went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2021. She was a member of South Seminole Baptist Church and taught Sunday School Class to the Young Ladies Class. She loved flowers and loved to plant in the garden. She was mostly a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert William Murray, Sr., son, Herbert William Murray, Jr. “Bill”, brother, Bob Bennett, sisters, Ilene Wheeler and Dixie Howe
Left behind to cherish Flo’s memory are her daughter, Lynda Lyles, grandchildren, Kristy (Steve) Parker, Ret. Col. Marty (Marianne) Lyles, and Stacye (Frank) Earnhardt, great-grandchildren, Noelle Parker, Lyndsay (Tyree) Smith, Brody Earnhardt, Kota Earnhardt, and Petty Officer 2nd Class, Zane Earnhardt, and one great-great-grandson, Willie Smith, brother, Tommy (Ginny) Bennett, sisters, Jewell Jennings and Wanda (Bob) Johnson, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Flo’s Life will be held at South Seminole Baptist Church on Thursday May 13, 2021 at 12:00 pm with Dr. Ron Perry officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday evening May 12, 2021 from 4 to 7 pm. She will be laid to rest in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with her husband, Herbert W. Murray Sr.
We respectfully request that all current mandates set forth by the CDC and the Hamilton County Health Department be adhered to. This includes “social distancing” and wearing masks at all times while on the premises.
