Francis Eugene Moore Jr.

Francis Eugene Moore, Jr., 87, of East Ridge passed away Monday, March 21, 2011. He was a member of GraceWorks Church and a graduate of Central High School. Mr. Moore was a member and past master of East Lake Lodge #698 F&AM, York Rite, Alhambra Shrine and Order of the Eastern Star. He was a hobbyist beekeeper and ham radio operator.

He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVerne C. Moore; parents, Francis Eugene Moore, Sr. and Winnie Owens Moore; sister, Mary Moore Breese; brother, Samuel B. Moore.

Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Helen Davis and Bonnie (Bobby) Gilreath; three sons, Bill (Linda) Brown, Everett (Barbara) Mabry and Charles (Prudy) Mabry; niece, Beth Moore Perry; nine grandchildren, Melissa Card, Josh Gilreath, Dr. James Brown, Mike Brown, Matt Brown, Adam Mabry, Mark Mabry, Jeff Mabry and Scott Mabry; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, William E. Moore and Franklin D. Moore.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Dennis Newman officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Wednesday and from 10 – 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
