Frank Marion Gardenhire

Frank Marion Gardenhire, 83, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026 in a local hospital. He was a member of South Seminole Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Trustee, door greeter and active worker. He was a member of the Men’s Sunday School Class.

Frank was a graduate of Central High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired as a pipefitter from Southern Railway. He loved the Lord, his family, birds and dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W. D. Gardenhire, Jr. and Frances Hill Gardenhire.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Suzanne Gardenhire; children, William “Bill” (Donna) Gardenhire, Nikki (Jason) Gunter and Charles “Chuck” (Tammy) Gardenhire; eight grandchildren: Jessica, Christina, Matthew, Jacob, Nicholas, Joshua, Jonah and Bryce; five great-grandchildren; sister, Rita Gregory and many cherished friends.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Thursday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road and from 9-10 AM Friday at South Seminole Baptist Church. The funeral will start at 10 AM Friday at the Church with the Rev. Greg Nash officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
