Mr. Miller was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He was retired from the U. S. Coast Guard as a diesel mechanic where he proudly served for 22 years. After his retirement he worked at Erlanger Hospital and was an avid model builder with pieces of his work displayed in the Chattanooga area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Helen Miller and a sister.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years, Sylvia M. Miller; daughters, Cheryl Fowlkes of Orlando, FL., Helen Windon of Chattanooga, Viki Rice of Chattanooga, and Suzy Morrow of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Shanna, Danielle, Andy, and Colten; and two brothers and 3 sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Service Organizations, Inc. (the USO), P.O. Box 96322, Washington, DC 20090-6322.
Memorial Services will be at 1 PM Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Windon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery at 2:30 PM on Wednesday with military honors.
