OBITUARY
George Allen Dotson
September 17, 1928 – January 29, 2013
George Allen Dotson, 84, of Chattanooga walked into Heaven on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. He was a member and Deacon at Spring Creek Road Baptist Church and had been Treasurer for 40 Years. George was a graduate of The University of the South at Sewanee where he played football. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and received the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star and the United Nations Service Medal. He was Past Commander of the American Legion Post 214. He was retired as City Court Clerk with the City of Chattanooga. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Emily Dotson; daughter, Lindy (Scott) Hannah of Ooltewah, TN; one grandson, Cade Dotson Hannah of Ooltewah, TN; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Friday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. James Julian officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Thursday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road. Memorial contributions may be made to Spring Creek Road Baptist Church in honor of their faithful servants. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Elmcroft Assisted Living and Caris Hospice.
