Helene was a 1938 graduate of Youngstown High School in Ohio and was a member of Alpha Kappa Sorority.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Barger; sister, Martha Jenkins and three brothers, Paul Smith, Jim Smith and Eugene M. Smith.
Survivors include her brother, Harry K. Smith; several nieces and nephews, including Gary Smith and a great niece Samantha Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM Wednesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with Dr. Linda McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
