Irene Thelma Fletcher, 92, of Rossville, Georgia who was a current resident of Soddy Daisy Healthcare and Nursing Home passed away peacefully at Memorial Hospital into the hands of her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Thursday morning July 9, 2020. This world will miss her joyful, generous and kind spirit.
Irene was born on August 12, 1927 to the late, Albert and Callie Fletcher. She attended Purpose Church. One of her favorite pastimes was taking vacations with her sisters and her children.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Sayne, son, Robert Fletcher, her aforementioned parents, and her 10 siblings.
Left behind to cherish Irene’s life are her children, Sue (Tommy) Goodman, Harold (Ellie) Sayne, Earlene (Joe) Panek, Faye (John) Duffy, Linda (Curtis) Gray, daughter-in-law, Nancy Fletcher, 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Irene’s Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Monday July 13, 2020 at 11:00 am with Pastor Tom Finlayson officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Lomenick Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Sunday July 12, 2020 from 2 – 6 pm.
