Mr. Spencer was born in Louisville, KY but lived most of his life in the Cleveland and Chattanooga Area. He was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and was a US Army Korean War veteran and began in the Engineering Department in 1950 for Combustion Engineering where he retired in 1984.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Glynda Brackett Spencer; parents, Richard W. and Bessie H. Spencer; brothers, Richard, Paul, Jack, Claude, Fred and David.
Surviving are his sons, Mickey Spencer, Danny Spencer and Larry Sanders; daughter, Jackie Morgan; brothers, Don and Eddie; sister, Judy; 11 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter.
A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the funeral home.
