

Jackie Davidson “jack” Hudgins, 87, passed away on September 12, 2025, in Collinsville, Alabama. He lived in multiple states due to his military service however, he considered Chattanooga, TN his hometown.
Born on April 8, 1938, in Gainesville, GA., to the late Harlan Horace Hudgins and Alice Brown Hudgins. He was a graduate of Gainesville High School and after graduating he enlisted in the Georgia Army National Guard in March 1956. He later asked for discharge to further his military career and was allowed to enlist in the active-duty Air Force in January 1957. He received training as a radar technician and served at multiple duty stations from Michigan to Mississippi. He later retired as a radar instructor at Keesler Air Force base, Biloxi Mississippi in March 1978. He is credited with 22 years of active military service. After retiring from the Air Force, he began the next chapter in his life and went on to work for TVA. He completed his TVA training at Sequoyah Nuclear Training Center and was later assigned to work at Bellefonte Nuclear Plant in Hollywood, AL, where he worked as an “instrument mechanic” for many years. He later retired from TVA and was a resident of Pisgah, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Rebecca “Becky” Louise Beene, Hudgins of Chattanooga, TN, his parents and a brother, William H. “Bill” Hudgins of Gainesville, GA.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia, his son, Kevin Hudgins, daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Rodney Twilley, his grandchildren, Kristina Lee Hudgins, David Lee Harmon, and Brooke Bailey, and his great-grandchildren, Mia and Sarada.
A memorial service celebrating Jack’s life will be held in the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Friday September 26, 2025, at 2:00 pm with military honors.
