James was born August 20, 1943 to the late Willie Marie Jolley, and Elbert Carson Goforth.
He served in US Army 1966-1968, worked with Golden Flake Snack Foods for 20 years, and began his own business, in sales.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bobby Goforth, and Junior Goforth.
James leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Karen Goforth; daughters Paige Hensen, Ami Ingle, and son Justin Ingle; granddaughter, Brooklynn Ingle, grandsons Dawson and Henry Ingle; sisters Frances Griffith , MaryAnn Runion, Linda Mangrum, and brother Bill Goforth; several nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service at the National Cemetery September 25 at 1:00 with Chaplain Steve Moore officiating.
