James "Jim" Henry North

James (Jim) Henry North, 90, of East Ridge, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. Mr. North grew up in the Chattanooga Valley and raised his three children with his loving wife, Freda North, in East Ridge. He was a veteran of the Navy, active member of Crosspath Church (East Ridge Baptist), member of Local IBEW 175, former owner of J. H. North Electric Company, and former employee of Duncan Electric Company. Jim was a devoted son, brother, uncle, cousin, husband, father, and friend who lived his life focused on being a blessing to others. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gabriel and Annis Pearl North; wife, Freda North; son, Rod North; daughter, Renee’ McKaig; siblings, Alfred, John, Paul, David, Doris and Mildred North. Surviving is his daughter, Rhonda (John) Ward; grandchildren, Jordan North, Natalie (Kanaan) Crutchfield, Brian McKaig, Sydney Ward, Ethan Ward, and Ryan Ward; great-grandchildren, Colette and Aurora Crutchfield. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held in the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Friday January 8, 2021 at 11:00 am with military honors provided by the United States Navy. We respectfully request that all current mandates set forth by the CDC and the Hamilton County Health Department be adhered to. This includes “social distancing” and wearing masks at all times while on the premises.
