Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Wise and father, George Wilson. He was born and raised in Chattanooga. He was a Deacon at Saints Peter and Paul Basilica, member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree and the American Legion, and served in the Vietnam War as a US Navy Hospitalman.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Glenda Wilson; sister, Brenda Yoder; daughter, Tammy (John) Edde; sons, Christopher Wilson and Joseph (Pansy) Wilson; and nine grandchildren: Valarie, Heather, Hayley, Amber, Austin, Joshua, Ryan, Courtney and Jessica.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
A Funeral Mass will be at 1 PM on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Saints Peter and Paul Basilica (214 E. Eighth Street, Chattanooga, TN 37402) with Bishop Richard F. Stika and Rev. Msgr. George Schmidt officiating.
Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family would like to express their appreciation to all the caregivers and hospice staff at Memorial Hospital.
