

James "Joe" Zielinski, a cherished partner, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on July 1, 2023, at his home in Chattanooga, TN. He was born in Atlanta, GA, on June 14, 1982, and had recently celebrated his 41st birthday.
The loss of Joe leaves a void that cannot be filled. His light, laughter, and unconditional love will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Joe was fiercely loving and kind, and he never met a stranger. Joe had a deep passion for spreading joy, and, most of all, making people laugh. Joe pursued his dreams as a stand-up comedian, and he fulfilled a lifelong goal by performing at Caroline's on Broadway in New York City. He left a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of witnessing his talent and wit in action, and his humor brought joy and laughter to countless lives.
Joe was also a proud member of the United States Navy where he served his country with honor and dedication. His commitment to the Navy and his fellow service members will be remembered and appreciated.
Joe was also passionate about music and sports. He found solace in playing the guitar, and he shared his love for music with others, often brightening their days with his melodies. Joe was an avid Braves and Bruins fan, and he enjoyed watching and attending games.
Above all, Joe treasured his family. He cherished every moment spent with them and embraced every opportunity to create lasting memories. His family was a source of strength and joy, and his unconditional love for them knew no bounds. They will miss him dearly.
Joe was a beloved partner to his greatest love, Chandler Dutton. They shared countless adventures and never stopped laughing.
Joe had a special bond with his parents, Mary Zielinski-Addison and Robert Addison, as well as his father, Jerry Zielinski.
Joe shared deep bonds with his four older siblings: Stacey Zielinski and brother-in-law Lorenzo Mattii, Jerry Zielinski and sister-in-law Natasha Zielinski, Bettina Schuman and brother-in-law Aaron Kalosis, and Jennifer Childs and brother-in-law Dustin Childs. And he was a loving big brother to his younger sister, Sydney Addison, and her partner, Abby Coker.
Finally, Joe was a fun-loving and caring uncle to a host of nieces and nephews: Stella Mattii, Isabella Zielinski, Sofia Zielinski, Chloe Schuman, Tyler Schuman, Ethan Childs, Sammy Childs, Amelia Childs, and Lena Childs. He loved and adored each of them dearly.
Joe's infectious laughter, comedic spirit, and zany antics will be remembered by all who knew him. He had a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around him, and we know that he continues to spread laughter and happiness wherever he may be.
A viewing and visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, July 12 from 1-3pm at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, located at 404 S Moore Rd. East Ridge, TN 37412. A gathering to celebrate Joe’s life will be held at one of his favorite local spots, East Lake Park, located at 3101 E 34th St. Chattanooga, TN 37407, from 3-6pm on July 12.
In honor of Joe's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, as he believed in the importance of mental health and supporting those in need.
