Jane Gass “Mama J.” Shipp, 81, of Chattanooga passed away Friday, August 30, 2013. She was a member of First Centenary United Methodist Church and had been involved in Positive Christian Singles. She was retired from Dupont as a computer operator after 30 years of service and worked for the U.S. Postal Service.
Janie was preceded in death by her brother, Jay D. Gass and a sister, Jeanie Matthews.
Survivors include her daughter, Coyee Langston; son, Clay Shipp; three grandchildren, Jessica Langston Love, Ellee Langston and Ruthie Kilgore.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Friday at Forest Hills Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at 11 AM Friday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road for a procession to the cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
