Janet Wade Strange

Janet Wade Strange woke up healed in paradise Sunday morning, December 17th, 2023. Janet was born to Owen and Doris Wade on September 12th, 1954, in Chattanooga Tennessee. She is a graduate of East Ridge High School and the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.

Janet lived a wonderful life of love and service to the Lord. She enjoyed going to church, especially with her beloved mother, and spending time outdoors watching the hummingbirds. Nick held off many hunts where he could have bagged several meals in front of Janet, but for the most part held off until he was alone to harvest the cute tasty ones. Janet had a deep connection with animals, particularly little dogs, Yorkies to be specific. She loved to travel to the beach and hoped to one day see the Northern Lights. Now, she has the best view from the other side of heaven.

She was preceded in death by her father, Owen Wade, and her most precious fur-children, Jessica and Macy. She leaves to honor her memory her adoring husband of 37 years, Nick Strange; her mother, Doris Wade; her stepchildren Amanda Trader (Damien) and Taylor Strange (Kristin); her brothers Eddie Wade (Rhonda) and Bobby Wade (Peggy); eight bonus grands; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Natalie Smart officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Partnership for Families, Children, and Adults Crisis Center of Chattanooga or the Chattanooga Cancer Support Services.
