Jean Mae Ballard

Jean Mae Snyder Ballard, age 81, died on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Wed E. Snyder and Joyce Benton Snyder. Mrs. Ballard was a member of Newnan Springs United Methodist Church. She retired in 1985, having worked as a Data Entry Operator at Data Logic, Inc, Combustion Engineering and Blue Cross-Blue Shield.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; two brothers, Nelson Snyder and Charles Snyder; three sisters, Dorothy Hamilton, Barbara Smith and Shirley Kilgore.

Survived by loving husband of 62 years, Kenneth Ballard of East Ridge; four daughters, Melissa L. Ballard Grant of Ooltewah, TN, Karen E. Ballard Ford of Hixson, TN, Susan C. Ballard Crabtree of Chattanooga and Barbara Jean Ballard Snodgrass of Huntsville, Alabama; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Jo Ann Harrigan of Wellington, Florida; and wonderful care giver, Inez L. Kent.

Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

A Memorial Service will be at 1 PM on Friday, September 14, 2012 at the funeral home with Rev. John Mattox officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
