Mr. McGuire was a native of Lost Mountain, GA where he was raised by his parents, Earl and Luvie McGuire. He was of the Baptist faith, a US Navy veteran, and was a retired building superintendant.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Grady Earl McGuire; daughter, Marie McGuire; brother, Jim McGuire; and sister, Karel Lassiter.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Shirley McGuire; daughters, Teresa (David) Johnson, Sandra Cooke, and Ann (Joe) Bietzel; grandchildren, Robert Bledsoe, Jr., Kevin Scott Cooke, Jr., Melissa Johnson, Christine Johnson and Tammy Lindsay; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha Sue Butt and Zelma Earlene Fellner; and several nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday and 10 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Graveside Services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 19, 2010 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Wayland Stewart officiating, and military honors provided by American Legion Post 95.
