Her parents Oscar and Ruth McCurdy opened Oscar’s Sandwich Shop in 1929 next to Central High School where Bobbie attended high school, met and eventually married William “Jug” Meadows after he returned from the Korean War. They settled in East Ridge where she raised her family and attended First Presbyterian Church. She spent many years teaching children on Sunday mornings and volunteering for Changed Lives, a long running Christian media ministry founded by the late pastor Ben Haden.
