Lillian Ann Baskette Carter, 88, of Chattanooga passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012. She attended East Ridge Baptist Church and was a member of the Chapel Sunday School Class. Mrs. Carter was retired from Dupont where she worked as a technician. She was a member of the Chattanooga Dalia Club.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy Baskette and Martin A. Carter and nine siblings.
Survivors include her son Edward “Ted” Baskette and his wife, Mary of Webster, FL; five grandchildren, Cherie Hurst of East Ridge, David Baskette of Rossville, GA, Christopher Baskette of Ocoee, TN, James Tucker of Gary, IN and Amy Napper of Plant City, FL; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Zorn of Red Bank, TN;several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home 404 S. Moore Road with Dr. Ronnie Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday and from 10 – 11:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
