
Louis Wesley “Salty” Jordan, age 80 of Jasper, Tennessee passed away June 2, 2011. Louis was a lifelong resident of Marion County was known as the best barber in the Sequatchee Valley. He owned and operated Salty’s Barber Shop in Jasper where he loved the interaction and friendship with his customers until his health forced his retirement at 76 years old. Louis was a member of the Marion County Board of Education for 16 years, where he fought for equality for all the children of the county, especially the remote areas of Griffith’s Creek and the Pocket. He has been a member of Victory Baptist Church for 18 years, where he faithfully served the Lord he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Pearl Jordan and a brother Carl Jordan.
Louis is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years Carol Jean Jordan; three daughters Kathy Burton, Terri (Bob) Rice, Kristy Kiser; five grandchildren Leanna (Jon) Aguiar, Bob Burton, Jordan Kiser, Rachael Kiser, Daniel Kiser, and Phillip Kiser; one great grandchild Lily Aguiar.
The family will receive friends at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper Friday from 4—8 and Saturday from 1-8.
Funeral services will be Sunday June 5, 2011 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home with Dr. Donald R Howard. Interment will follow in the Sequatchee Valley Memorial Gardens.
