Louise Stieg, 87, of East Ridge went home to be with the Lord on Saturday May 1, 2021. She spent her life devoted to her faith, family, and friends. She served as a loving pastor’s wife for many years. She was a loyal member of Spring Creek Church of God and enjoyed her time while employed with the Chattanooga Times Free Press. Louise was an enthusiastic reader and a wonderful cook. She loved her exercise and activities at both East Ridge and Catoosa County senior centers.

Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dan Stieg; parents, Arthur and Freddie Mae Phillips; and all of her 10 siblings.

She will be greatly missed by her two daughters, Vicki (Gary) Holder and Beth (Bill) Cornelson; grandchildren, Vanessa (Jonathan) Childers, JD (Callie) Holder, Brooke (Trent) Catchpole, and Brittany (Matt) Kimbrell; four great-grandchildren, Colton; Benjamin; Raylee; and Barrett, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Louise’s Life will be held in the Spring Creek Church of God on Wednesday May 5, 2021 at 4:00 pm with Rev. Benny Mills officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 pm. Louise will be laid to rest in the Chattanooga National Cemetery in a private family ceremony.

We respectfully request that all current mandates set forth by the CDC and the Hamilton County Health Department be adhered to. This includes “social distancing” and wearing masks at all times while on the premises.

Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist East Chapel, 404 South Moore Rd. East Ridge, TN 37412.

Louise was a special lady and will certainly be missed. We became friends with Louise and Dan when they became members of the Scenic City Sams Camping Club. I will always cherish my memories of her and her sweet smile.
