She was born on January 25, 1930 to the late Nell Wilcoxon Nix in Copperhill, Tennessee.
She was a devoted mother and nanny who will be remembered for her spunky personality, endless energy, amazing cookies and candy, and most of all her loving heart.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Archie Custer, Jr., and her brother, Kenneth Wilcoxon.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Custer, Sr.; two grandsons and their wives, Kenny and Shannon Custer, Kory and Candace Custer; six great-grandchildren, Alayna, Adelyne, Kelton, Keaton, Kynleigh, and Kyleigh; sister, Delinda (William) Brown; several nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
A Celebration of “Nanny’s” Life will be held graveside at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Thursday August 3, 2017 at 12:30 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday August 2, 2017 from 4 – 8 p.m.
