Marion Calvin Young

Mr. Young was born and raised in Talking Rock, Georgia. He graduated from McKenzie College and was retired as a Mess Sergeant for the US Air Force with over 16 years of service.

Mr. Young was a member of Frawley Road Baptist Church where he served as the former Secretary and Treasurer and was also Deacon Emeritus.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Carolina Young; his parents, James Grady and Jessie Ponders Young; brothers, Harlow and Jesse; and sisters, Margie and Geneva.

Surviving are his sons, Mike (Sandra) Young, Sr. of Sale Creek, TN and Joseph (Jamie) Young of Morgantown, NC; Grandchildren, Michele Young (David) Bailey of Chattanooga, Michael J. (Katie) Young, Jr. of Chattanooga, Matthew O. (Taylor) Young of East Ridge, and Jonathan H. Young of Iowa City, Iowa; Great-Grandchildren, Savannah, Rebekah, Isaac, Khloe, Michael III, McKenzie and Lauren; Brother, Marvin (Debbie) Young; Sister, Cleo McDaniel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Monday and 11 AM to 1 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will be at 1 PM on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at the funeral home with Dr. Mike Young and The Rev. Joseph M. Young officiating.

Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
