Mark was a truly kind and generous person. I am so grateful to him for so many things.  He will forever missed.

I could never fully express the impact Mark had on the people that got the privilege to meet him. During the time that I’ve had the honor of knowing him, he has always opened his heart and door to others. Mark always had the gift of brightening up a room with his great sense of humor and wisdom. Those who never got the chance to know Mark have missed out greatly on a truly amazing man. 

Through Michelle I am grateful I was given the chance to meet such a caring and supportive man. While my family struggled he opened his door for us to have a stable place to reside. He always treated us with compassion, care, love, and respect. He never looked down on others, and was always ready to help with advice or offering a delicious home cooked meal. I will always have the memories of our time together, and for that, I am grateful. Mark would drive me to work and I made sure to always pay him back with a coffee and donut when he came to get me. I’d wear his golf shoes to mow his ungodly steep back yard with him watching over me ready to laugh at me falling, or send water down on a rope from the back porch. Mark showed me how to re-string a weedwacker (he got tired of restringing it for me), how to pull out of his driveway (I’ll stick to the road still), how to make the best Mac and cheese I’ve ever had, and taught me a card trick that I still don’t understand how it works. 

I will forever miss you Mark. You will always have a place in our hearts and a presence we think of and cherish. I thank you so much for all that you have done for not only me but Michelle, and our family. I hope you continue to send us your guidance and support through your own ways.

My deepest sympathies and condolences to Mark's family and friends. In my eyes, he was always patient, understanding, and willing to do what ever he could to help.

I'm writing this while sitting next to you in the viewing. I came to help my mother and I didn't even pack any clothes for this moment. Maybe deep down I refused to believe it was coming. Like I was holding onto some sort of hope that somehow someway this moment wouldn't come. Even after I didnt go to get clothes for this up until today like I refused to believe it. But here we are. And of course I keep myself (mostly) together until the moment I sit at your laptop to get it set up online...like of course I would be the one to do this. I know i wasn't around a lot, perhaps a lot less than I wanted to be. I was so surprised to see you were waiting for us to arrive when coming to visit in April. I told you I appreciate everything you've done. Maybe I didn't show it as much as I should have but you shown a bright light in so many lives. And I'm forever grateful.

To Marks family and friends I am very sorry for your loss. Mark was the most kind gentle hearted man. He was an absolute light and had a way to make everyone feel at ease. As a person who appreciates some light hearted humor, I can say we both shared that quality so it was always a joy to have him around. 

I am very close to my Aunt Michelle his fiancé. When he came into her life it was a time when she needed someone the most. He treated her like gold and wanted nothing in return as she did him. I’ll always treasure him as someone who loved my aunt unconditionally and was her person, her protector, and her home. His presence is definitely missed. I love you Mark. Thank you for loving my aunt Michelle so deeply and bringing nothing but love into her life. I will miss you so much but we will meet again. Until then please watch over your soulmate for us.

It’s hard to put into words what it means to lose someone who has been part of our family, as Mark came to be. He came into my aunt Michelle’s life while she was still grieving, and somehow they found love, companionship, and happiness together.

He didn’t just love my aunt Michelle—he loved the family that came with her. He became such an important part of our lives. He taught Hailey so many things over the years with patience and love, and those are pieces of him that she will always carry with her. When my aunt traveled from Tennessee to Pennsylvania to visit us, he was usually right there beside her, becoming part of so many of our memories.

These last few months showed just how deeply Mark loved Michelle and how she loved him in return. She cared for him through this difficult time and stayed by his side until the very end. I’m incredibly grateful they had each other through it.

Thank you for loving my aunt, for loving our family, and for giving her so many years of love and happiness. You will be deeply missed and always remembered. Rest peacefully. ❤️
