Pop Pop embraced his Pop Pop role, which was his greatest joy. His most precious times were hanging out with friends and family and going to all his grand children’s games and activities. He loved to be known as Pop Pop. Not only by his grandchildren, but also by all his children and their friends. Those who know him, know he never met a stranger and loved to talk. He enjoyed yearly visits to the beach with all his extended family. Pop Pop enjoyed sitting on his back porch, cigars, being an excellent uber driver for his kids, umpiring baseball games, fishing, hanging out at the lake with his longtime friend Bruce. Bruce was always a lifesaver for being such a great friend to him and allowing his wife Ceil to have some quite time. Mark also enjoyed hanging out and playing poker with his long-time friend, Steve. Mark also leaves behind his high school lifelong friends, Beaver, Cliff, and Jack. Our family always loved to hear about their escapades.
We will miss Pop Pop dearly and will try to remember all his advice. Some of it was good, Some, bad, but we wouldn’t have had it any other way. He was always ready to do anything and everything for his family.
The family plans a celebration of life which will be held on November 1st from 2-6 pm at one of his favorite places; Holy Smokes Cigars at 6729 Ringgold Rd, East Ridge, TN.
