

Mary Loraine Corwin, 91, of Chattanooga died Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at her home. She was born November 26, 1923 in Rome Georgia to the late John Reuben Billingsley and Nora Cowan Billingsley. She was preceded in death by her brother, John R. Billingsley, Jr.
Mrs. Corwin was a very loving and caring mother, who devoted her life to her family; she was involved in all her children’s activities. She was a member of the Brainerd United Methodist Church where she was active in the Women’s Circle and various committees. She was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. Mrs. Corwin was active in the Garden Club, the Kosmos Club, and several bridge clubs. She was a graduate of Central High School where she was a member of the Blue Jackets. After graduation she worked for the telephone company for about ten years.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Horton Corwin; children, Linda (Kenny) Dyer, Janice (Dr. Robert) Rhodes; grandchildren, Dr. K.C. (Janice) Dyer, Dr. Katie Dyer, Kelsey Rhodes, and Natalie Rhodes; great granddaughter, Brooke Dyer.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 24 at 11:30 am in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 on Thursday evening.
