Mary Lee Hopson, age 65, of East Brainerd went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Mary was an active member of Ridgedale Baptist Church and was a member of the Promise Sunday School Class and the Nursing Honor Society. She was currently employed with Chattanooga State as a nursing instructor and had previously worked at Erlanger Hospital for many years and the offices of Dr. Dodson. She was a graduate of Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing and was currently enrolled at East Tennessee State University completing her Master’s degree.
Mrs. Hopson was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Bruce M. Hopson and her father, Herman L. Depew.
Surviving are her daughter, Paige Ranea Rogers and her husband, Barry Rogers of East Brainerd; son, Jameson Louis Hopson; three grandchildren, Seth Lee Rogers, Sloane Ranae Rogers, and Logan Keith Hopson; mother, Mabel Lee Depew of Johnson City, TN; sister, Betty D. Card and her husband, James Edwin Card, Sr. of Ooltewah; and brother, Charles William Depew and his wife Lucille Depew of Johnson City.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 2 PM on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at the funeral home with Dr. Bill Owens officiating and visitation one hour prior to the service.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 AM on Monday, April 18, 2011 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Mutter officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Ridgedale Baptist Church, 1831 Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
