

Melissa Mitchell “Missy” Rash, age 50, of Rossville went home to be with her Lord Sunday, July 24, 2011. She was born February 21, 1961 in Chattanooga and was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area.
Missy was a loving wife, Mother and Nana who has now gone to be with her Lord after a long courageous battle with cancer. She will be missed by many. We love you.
She was a 1979 Graduate of East Ridge High School and attended Chattanooga State Community College.
Missy was a member of New Haven Baptist Church and the Enrichment Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas & Ada Mitchell and Andrew and Nellie Rich; mother-in-law, Thelma Rash; and father-in-law, Sherman Rash.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Johnny Rash; daughter, Heather (Scott) Tucker of Ringgold; son, Jonathan Rash of Rossville; granddaughter, Madison Tucker of Ringgold; parents, Gloria and Billy Mitchell of East Ridge; sister, Angie (Greg) Wright of Rossville; nephews, Garrett (Katie) Wright of Rossville; Dusty (Jessica) Wright of Rossville; great-niece, Lanie Wright of Rossville; godson, Jacob Grant of Rossville.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the East Chapel with Rev. Bill Broom and Rev. Robert K. Schrader officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 404 South Moore Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
