Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh P. and Bettye Huskins Cotter.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Cotter; son, Michael David Cotter; step-son, James Waylon Stone; granddaughter, Christina Blake; grandson, Jay Stone; great-grandchildren, Drew Blake and Bryson Blake; three brothers, Steve Cotter, Brian Cotter and Joe (Pamela) Cotter; sister, Beth (Butch) Gross; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Friday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
