Mitchell "Mitch" Steele

Mitchell Steele, 66, of Chattanooga passed away unexpectedly on September 3, 2024. He was born August 28, 1958 in Columbus, OH. He worked primarily as a project manager in construction, having built many commercial buildings over his career.

Mitch was deeply loved by all who knew him. He was a generous, compassionate, and loving soul with a great zest for life. In his retirement years he loved traveling, women's college softball, bird and wildlife watching, and just relaxing and enjoying the view from the back deck. He was an enthusiastic life-long Ohio State Buckeye fan and a lover of all creatures great and small. He will be greatly missed by a number of friends and loved ones.

Mitch was predeceased by his parents, Robert W. and Ethel Steele.

He is survived by his life partner, Carol Fincher and by their loved ones, Averie, Justice, and Kristen Sheppard; Bentley and McKynleigh Sheppard; Kevin Sheppard; Brad, Willow-Kate, and Maddie-Grace Davis; and Kay Steele.

He is also survived by family including his sisters, Debbie Steele and Judy Roberts (Terry); children, Jeremy Forney, Jake Steele, and Jazmin (Jason) Burns; as well as a number of grandchildren, one great-grandchild, niece, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, and a great-great niece and great-great nephew.

A Memorial Service Celebrating Mitch’s Life will be held privately.
