

Nellie’s strength and courage is an inspiration to all who know her. She was loved and greatly admired by family and friends alike.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chalmus Eugene Knox; son, Marcus Vaughn Knox; parents, Elzy Van and Virginia Daisy Hughes; brothers, Doyle Hughes and John Berry Hughes; and sisters, Bellzora Hughes, Cora Marie Hughes Hollis and Virginia Mae Anderson.
Nellie is survived by daughter, Marcia (Joseph) Evridge; son, Michael (Keily) Knox; Grandchildren, Stephanie (Richard) Moschkau, Christopher (Angela) Evridge, Ginger (Brad) Petty, Nellionna Knox and Candace Stoker; Seven Great-grandchildren, Marissa, Makayla, Titus and Tylan Moschkau, Hannah and Gracie Petty and Ayden Evridge; sister, Rosilee (Hub) Evers; brothers, William (Shirley) Hughes, James (Lois) Hughes and Ivan (Loreen) Hughes; sister-in-law, Betty McBryer; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 2 PM on Monday at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church (4131 Ringgold Road, East Ridge, TN 37412) where she was a longtime member. Pastor Larry Dial will officiate and visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
Pallbearers will be Todd Blancett, Adam Ellis, Chris Evridge, Joe Evridge, Rich Moschkau, Brad Petty, Ricky Scott, and Steve Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Candance Stoker and Kelly Hamrick (Caregivers) and Titus, Tylan, and Ayden (Great-Grandchildren).
Memorial donations may be made to Memorial Hospital Cancer Center.
