Olivia "Libby" Del Swingle

Olivia (Libby) Swingle, 74, of Ooltewah, TN passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Known as Granna to her grandchildren and all of her “adopted” children, she poured out love and encouragement to all those around her. Libby was creative and loved to decorate her home so that everyone felt welcome. She sang in the choir at Abba’s House for many years and loved to worship and pray with friends.

It is no wonder her favorite verse was Exodus 15:2 which says “The Lord is my strength and my song”.

Libby was a graduate of Chattanooga Central High School class of 1966. She made a career with Spears, Moore, Rebman, and Williams as a receptionist and Law Librarian. After retiring she spend time taking care of her family and her beloved dogs Bart and Sadie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Swingle Jr., parents Cliff Parman and Madeline Boyd and a sister, Saundra Braden. Survivors include her children, Jeff, Scott, and Alice Wilhoit; four grandchildren, Kinsley, Lauren, Blake, and Paige; one great-granddaughter, Aria; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Sunday at Grace Pointe Assembly of God located at 6613 Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN. Graveside services will be held at 1 PM Monday at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East with her niece, Madaline McFarland officiating.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road.
