Opal I. Smith, 90, of Chattanooga died Saturday, September 19, 2015. She is at peace. Mrs. Smith was born April 11, 1925 in Chattanooga a daughter of the late William G. and Mildred Cummings. Mrs. Smith was reunited with her husband of 50 years, Ray C. Smith. She was preceded in death by her sister and friend Edna Houts and a sister Virginia Sivley.
Mrs. Smith worked many years as bookkeeper for Service Auto Parts then retiring from Napa, after they merged.
She was a member of Wauchatchie United Methodist Church for over 70 years.
Survivors include a daughter Pat Long; sons, Stephen Smith, Randall Smith, and Kevin Smith; grandchildren, Sherri Long, Kirisa Patrick, and Kyle Smith; and great grandchildren, Madison Long, Gabriel Patrick, Nevaeh Patrick, and Ellie Patrick.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 23 in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend Christine Dowling-Soka officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, West.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-7 Tuesday evening.
