Pauline Percival Webb

October 13, 1927November 17, 2020

Pauline Webb, 93, passed away November 17, 2020 in Nashville, TN. She was born on October 13, 1927. Pauline was the youngest of 5 children, born to Forster and Mertie Percival in Knoxville, TN. She helped her parents plant the best garden in the neighborhood, and she loved to help with preserving and canning the fruits of their labor. This also led to her creating some of the best baked goods you ever put in your mouth.

Pauline was a born entertainer, and loved to put on glorious parties for church and friends. She also delighted in having extra special tea parties with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pauline was a well loved and respected employee of Chattanooga City Schools as a cafeteria manager. In addition to traveling the world with her husband, Pauline and Boyd Webb loved their church friends at Trinity Woodmore and Brainerd United Methodist Church. They were truly servants of the Lord, and spent many hours working at both churches. Pauline was also very active in the United Methodist Women.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Boyd Webb, her parents Forster and Mertie Percival, her daughter Susan (Sam) Nichols, her 2 sisters, and 3 brothers.

She is survived by her daughter Rebecca (Eric) Weiser; step-sons Roy (Karen) Webb, Dickie (Janis) Webb; step-daughter Nancy (Lars) Friis-Jensen; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

We're so sorry about the loss of Polly. As her BUMC family and early church goers, we always enjoyed seeing & chatting with her & Boyd each Sunday. Polly was instrumental in planning BUMC's kitchen with the renovation, and it was known that no meal was planned or served at Trinity Woodmore without Polly! I was most thankful for her advice when I needed to cook for a larger number of folks. And I remember her helping her sister in the Knoxville area and being a patient coping wife as Boyd aged. Such a memory-long ago Boyd -instigator- and several other men (my husband Mike included) dressed in drag for a church skit. I put photos on the church's bulletin board. At Boyd's funeral she even elaborated about it as we spoke! Such a dear spirited soul- fond of!

Boyd and Polly were members of my parents' Sunday School class at Brainerd UMC, and we attended Barger Elementary when Polly was cafeteria manager. We will remember them fondly.
In Christian sympathy,
