Peggy Cope Christol

Peggy Joyce Cope Christol, 81, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 in a local hospital. She was a lifelong member of Ridgedale Baptist Church. Mrs. Christol was born December 29, 1932, daughter of the late General Forest and Bessie Cope a graduate of Chattanooga Business College, retired after 30 years of service with the Chattanooga Social Security Office and after that she became associated with Dale Buchanan and Associates Law Firm.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Christol, daughter, Terri Crawford, brothers, Buddy Cope and Bobby Cope, sisters, Marie Rogers and Kitty Rich.

Survivors include two sons, Tim (Donna) Christol of Chattanooga and Tom Christol of Demorest, GA; five grandchildren, Jeremy Christol of Murfreesboro, TN; Matt Crawford, Ashlee Crawford and Holli Crawford all of Chattanooga and Elizabeth Lewallen of Demorest, GA; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Owens and Dr. Doug Plumlee officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 4-7 and 11-1 on Tuesday.
