I met Randall in the late 1970's and we quickly became friends. His infectious laughter, never ending smile and personality always were his greatest trait. We were neighbors within the same apartment building for a while until he moved a block away in a rental house. Although I chose to take a job in Los Angeles in 1981, we remained in contact until his death. We lost contact a few times, yet when we reconnected it was always just like we spoke yesterday. I returned to Chattanooga many times over the years and always stayed with Randall and Mike. I fell and broke my hip in July 2017 and Randall also fell and broke his hip in August 2017. We both got the flu around the holidays and I remember telling him around Christmas how bad the flu was this year. I apparently I survived both incidents, but as I found out yesterday that Randall succumbed to  an illness that I as of yet do not know what?  Dearest Randall I would like you to know that you were the best friend anyone on earth could ever wish to share. I was blessed to have shared so many laughs, shared stories of life and a friendship that lasted over 40 years. I wish I could take the numbness away from my head as it is not going to be easy to know I will never have another opportunity to talk to you again. Randall you will be missed by so many people that you reached out to and touched. I honestly can say that I loved you as a brother, as you did me.  You will forever hold a special place in my heart Randall. Take care my bro and I will see you in heaven. Love you Randall, Dan Clarke

Randall always called me brother, loved me like a brother, and was as much a brother as both Mike and Pete.  He was family, and losing him leaves an empty chair at the table that no one can ever fill.  Randall laughed loud and long,  and was caring, concerned, and helpful to everyone simply because he was a wonderful person with a big heart.  Mom and dad loved him like a son, and he made my brother happy.  He'll be forever missed, and never forgotten.  We'd all do very well in life to be so well loved and highly regarded.  I doubt that I'll ever sit outside around a campfire, having a cold beer, and not think of him and the good times.   So very, very sorry he's gone, but our loss is Heaven's gain.

Randall and I have been friends since high school. We sat together at lunch, along with two full lunch tables of friends. He had seen how I loved to laugh and asked me to join the group at the beginning of that school year. We became good friends and talked on the phone all night long at times. He was the most loving, fun and kind person you would ever want to know. I had lunch with him again about 3 years ago, and he was still the same Randall. I will never forget him. I will cherish the memories. Love you Randall. Rest in peace.

I will always remember his contagious laughter, bright eyed smiles, and miss his wonderful humor. I love him so much and will forever miss his wonderful presence that could brighten up anyones day without even trying.

The long talks we had, the great Memories we shared, and all the infectious laughter you had, will ALWAYS be in my heart and thoughts. Heaven is blessed with your presence now, though sadly those of us that loved you will miss you terribly, i know your now at peace from so much hurting. You are such an inspiration in my life, Not only my best friend, my uncle, but a light that shines forever. I LOVE YOU and MISS You, they're are no words that can decribe just how much, RIP

Randall and I have been friends since the 80,s when we both worked at Gilman. He was one of the best friends I ever had and always made me laugh.  When I told my daughter he had passed away she said I always knew when you were talking to him because you couldn't stop laughing. What memories I have of all the good times we all had.  RIP Randall you will be missed.  Michael I do know your loss as I list Norman on Dec 22 nd.  You and the family will be in my prayers, I love you and am here if you need to talk.
