Raymond Dale Cagle, 75, of Chattanooga earned his angel wings and flew home to be with the Lord on May 27, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and attended New Hope Church of God in South Pittsburgh Tennessee.
Mr. Cagle was a Master Auto Body Technician for 56 years, working with employers such as Amos and Andy Buick Sales & Service, Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting, Kelly Cadillac Sales & Service, J & G Body Shop and for the last 26 years with Lee Smith Inc. Throughout his career, he was given opportunity to work for entertainer Jay Leno, Danny Shirley (Confederate Railroad), NASCAR Auto Racing and was an integral part of the Chattanooga Fire Truck that is now a permanent display at Children's Hospital Downtown Chattanooga. He enjoyed teaching the old school way of auto body repair, an art that has now given way to modem technology. Raymond was a very humble and kind hearted man that wouldn't hesitate to help his fellow man. Highly respected, honored and loved by family, friends, and coworkers. With him, Raymond takes the love, honor and respect of a thousand lifetimes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Cagle and Gladys May Cagle; wife Linda Eller Cagle; son Raymond Dale Cagle II; sister, Sammie Lou Cagle Patrick.
He is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Tillman and George of Chattanooga; two granddaughters Michaela Tillman and Brittny Tillman both of Chattanooga; grandson Vincent Tillman and Savannah of Chattanooga; one great-granddaughter Winter Raelynn of Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be conducted June 1, 2021 at 1:00pm in the Chattanooga Funeral Home Chapel and will be officiated by Bro. John Headrick. He will be laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends on Monday May 31, 2021 from 5- 9 pm at the Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel.
