Rhyne Junior Williams

Rhyne Junior Williams, age 75, of Chattanooga died Sunday February 19, 2012 at Memorial Hospital. He was born February 9, 1937 in Homer, Michigan to the late William Rhyne Williams and Lucille Mae Bartlett Williams. Mr. Williams was raised in Chattanooga. He was also preceded in death by a sister Rita Ann Williams Hawkins.

He was a member of the Tyner United Methodist Church and the Margaret Pennington Sunday School Class. He and his wife were retired from the US Postal Service where they worked as Postal Clerks, they were members of the American Postal Workers Unions and each served as Craft Directors.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Virginia JoAnne Holmes Williams; three daughters, Rhonda (Harold) Evitt, Terry Rena Williams and Rachelle Christine Thompson; son, Rhyne Grey (Happy) Williams; two brothers, Raymond Lee (Ruth) Williams and Randall Scott (Kim) Williams; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Harrison officiating. Interment will be at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 4-8.
