Rick Hawkins, 63, of Lookout Valley, formerly of East Ridge, TN., passed away on Wednesday March 4, 2020. Rick was a graduate of East Ridge High School and worked as a boilermaker for 24 years with Chattanooga Boiler and Tank. Prior to his retirement, he also worked with the City of Chattanooga in the Waste Treatment Department. He was a member of the Boilermakers Local 679. Rick was an avid Tennessee Volunteers Fan. He also enjoyed working on cars and hot rods. Rick liked going to car shows as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Bobbie Hawkins, and a sister, Debra Cissom.
Left behind to cherish Rick’s memory are his wife, LaShawn Hawkins, children, Christian Nichols (Jeremy); Justin (Christine) Hawkins; Brandon (Adrienne) Hawkins; Aaron (Ashley) Thomas and Adam (Jessi) Thomas, grandchildren, Ethan and Gabriel Nichols; Trent Thomas; Layla Hawkins; and Richard Connor Hawkins, a brother, Mike (Mary) Hawkins, and nephews, Steven and Jeffrey Hawkins, and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Rick’s Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Sunday March 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Eddie “Bud” Killian officiating. The family will be receiving friends Saturday evening at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. and prior to the service on Sunday beginning at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions in Rick’s name be made to the American Cancer Society, 651 E 4th St Ste 200, Chattanooga, TN 37403.
