Mr. Robert Herman O' Guin

Robert Herman “Bob” O’Guin, 84, son of the late Annie C. Grimmitt O’Guin and George Alfred “Doss” O’Guin. He was preceded in death by his sisters Velma Sue Stephens and Betty Morrison; and brothers John Alfred O’Guin and Walter Grimmitt O’Guin.

Mr. O’Guin was born in Waverly, TN on December 31, 1926. He came to Chattanooga in 1946, after serving in the United States Navy, during World War II. For many years he owned and operated Bob O’Guin’s Body Shop and in later years he became co-owner of Auto Paint Shop until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years Martha Joan Abercrombie O’Guin; mother-in-law Mildred Virginia Abercrombie; sister, Nancy Joe Stephenson; son Robert H. “Buddy” O’Guin, Jr. (Angela); daughter Leesa (David) ; ten grandchildren Tiffany (Thomas)Hash, Ryan (Shannon) O’Guin, Lindsay Helton (Butch Ownby), Mary Katherine O’Guin, McGavock O’Guin, Corey Hash, Savanna Hash, Cassidy Hash, Steven Nichols and Jadah Ownby; two great grandchildren Gabriel Helton and Caleb Ownby.

Graveside services will be held Monday April 4, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the Forest Hills Cemetery with Minister Jim Lewis officiating.

The family will receive friends at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home from 2-4 Sunday April 3, 2011.
