Roger Lee Watson

Roger Lee Abney Watson, 41, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2010 in Boise, Idaho. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Roger was a graduate of Ooltewah High School class of 1988 and was an All City and All Region Cross Country Runner for the Owls. He won several 5K and 10K races during his high school career and placed second in the State Cross Country Invitational. Roger has lived in the western mountain states for the past several years.

He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Sam H. Robertson and Howard Abney.

Survivors include his daughter, Emily Abney of Chattanooga; Parents, Glen and Janice Watson of Chattanooga and Roger Abney, Sr. and Kathy Abney of Hilton Head, SC; sister, Lynn (Thaddeus) Lepcio of Chattanooga; brothers, Glen C. Watson, III and wife Marcia of Nashville, TN and David Abney of Hilton Head, SC; grandmothers, Evelyn Robertson of Ringgold, GA, Gloria Watson of Chattanooga and Bertie Abney of Ringgold, GA; nephew Teddy Lepcio of Chattanooga; several aunts and uncles.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with father Jim Vick officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 AM Thursday in the Holy Family Hall at the church. Burial will be private for the family only. Pallbearers will be Thaddeus Lepcio, Allen Michael Greenwell, Joe Coke, Allen Greenwell, Jimmy Coke and Anthony Stephens.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
