Ruth Casey

Ruth Price Casey, age 90, a longtime resident of Chattanooga and most recently of Flat Rock, Alabama, died on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and was a graduate of Central High School in Chattanooga. Mrs. Casey was a homemaker as well as a former member of the church of Christ, both at Ridgedale Church of Christ while currently attending Glendale Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Daniel Casey; her parents, Hugh A. Price and Swaney E. Price; her daughter, Carolyn C. Russell; and sisters Sara Fricks and Martha Bell.

Mrs. Casey is survived by her children and spouses, David Casey of Cookeville, Alan (Dana) Casey of Brentwood, Lisa (Daryel) Haynes of Flat Rock, AL and Sheila (Gordon) Kelso; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the East Chapel of the Chattanooga Funeral Home with Daryel Haynes officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with the grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
