I always enjoyed talking to Sam. We would get a good visit in the laundry room at the Continental. I will miss his friendship.

Among our special memories are the hilarious stories Dad and Sam told of their childhood adventures. One of our favorites is when their Mom found their baby picture on the wall in the bathroom. When she asked why; “Oh, we like it there.” Lo and behold, they were covering the hole in the bathroom wall made when one threw something and the other one ducked! Who threw and who ducked depends on the twin telling the story! We have fond memories of special visits like when the family came up to visit our exchange student Takako, and when we met in Stearns, Kentucky to celebrate Dad’s 40th anniversary with United. We rode the Big South Fork Scenic Railway train and toured the Blue Heron Mining Community. When staying closer to Chattanooga catching a Lookouts baseball game or sharing dinner at O’Charley’s gave them a chance to swap tall tales.
