Mr. Skipper was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Pacific in World War II. He was the owner of Ortmeier Machinery Company in Chattanooga for some 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Skipper; Daughter, Sherri (Mike) Cofer; sons, Jeff (Beckie), and John (Ronda) Skipper; grandchildren, Garrett, Chazlyn, Josh and Jonathan Skipper.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, August 22 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
